Many thanks. I've filed PR bootstrap/26161 that describes the
issue. Hopefully, it's detailed enough for someone who knows
what they are doing to fix the problem.
On IRC, David Edelsohn mentioned a similar issue affects AIX, though
I'm not sure I've seen/noticed it (yet) on my local AIX 5.2 system.
