It's a bug fix: without it bogus crti.o/crtn.o files are installed,
which bypasses glibc's, which call call_gmon_start (enable profiling).
I'll hold off for HEAD until (A) Kazu's patch has been applied and (B)
I have a chance to test an arm-linux configuration more thoroughly.
