Seems reasonable to me, though I'd encapsulate that in a macro.  cp-tree.h
already has a TYPE_MAIN_DECL macro...which currently uses TYPE_STUB_DECL.
I wonder if changing it to use TYPE_NAME and moving it to tree.h would be
safe.

Hmm...but maybe TYPE_STUB_DECL is useful for anonymous classes that are
given a name for linkage purposes.  In that case, TYPE_STUB_DECL may
contain the anonymous declaration, and TYPE_NAME the typedef which gives it
a name.  I don't remember for sure, though.
