That is still quite a lot IMHO.


I think it is not bad for this patalogical case (it is only 10% of all global allocation on itanium).

I profiled it a bit and found
that we spend some time computing local information. How about
the attached, you think this makes sense?


Sure, it looks fine for me. Thanks for the patch (although it is not a review. I am not a reveiwer for global). I hope Richard will approve it.

* global.c: Update comments in a few places, plus speedup:
(check_earlyclobber): Return true if there are
early clobber classes.
(calculate_local_reg_bb_info): Do not try to mark earlyclobber
regs if there are none.
