I was referring to an external call with a small constant parameter, not to the
original function (that -O3 code does look ugly though)....still, so far I haven't
gotten the compiler to inline at all in that case, maybe I should have tried it.:)


But the example is valid, even if the compiler doesn't currently do the right thing on it.,
