You might want to read ISO C++ amendment N1496 which is at
http://std.dkuug.dk/jtc1/sc22/wg21/docs/papers/2003/n1496.html. As
you'll see there, they propose amending C++ to go the MSVC route of
explicit symbol exporting.

I've forwarded you my completed one which will save you about thirty
seconds worth of extra typing! I had thought you were a regular
patcher of GCC Brian otherwise I'd have sent you it earlier.
