That I merged an individual patch from gnulib rather than resynchronising
with the copy of obstack there (which might involve merging back libiberty
local patches as well as losing K&R support). I noted in
<http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2003-10/msg02027.html> that a full
merge must await no longer needing K&R support in libiberty.
