Yes, I'll do. But note that I don't "cast doubt", I simply say that a fix
for a non-regression bug in a little-touched part of the compiler shouldn't
go on the 3.3 branch at this point.

This is unexpected too. If the compiler is properly configured, there should
be no more failures with GNU binutils than with Sun binutils:
