No, I do not believe there are any code differences. However Richard
appeared to be stating that adding the "-g" flag should not change whether
or not the program compiled or not, and I am pointing out that in this
case it did.

That's not in dispute of Richard's points. Are there any differences
in the _code_? Those labels are used by the debug information.
