Re: [PATCH] Updated patch to overhaul RTX classes

Paolo, could you try applying it to the branch as well? However, first
coordinate with Richard, as he was working on a mainline->branch merge.

Would it be ok to try applying my original patch (submitted 2004-02-06) to a tree-ssa tree including 2004-02-11's mainline merge? I can do that tomorrow or next Thursday.

If the experiment above does not have a good result, I feel the best thing would be to have the patch reviewed and approved, but delay its actual application to after the next HEAD -> tree-ssa merge; the I would personally take care of porting the patch to tree-ssa and resubmit it. However I think (and you seemed to concur) that this is unlikely -- and it would possibly cause conflicts at the next merge.

Instead, if the results are encouraging, it may also be possible (to ease Richard's merging work) to also apply the patch to mainline after the next HEAD -> tree-ssa merge only.

All the three people CCed are way more expert than me reasoning about CVS and conflicts, however. Other opinions are of course welcome.

Paolo
