If we do not need it, let's remove it from engine/Makefile.am so it
will not get compiled at all.  Can you do that?  I have too many local
patches in my tree right now...


I can just fix them pretty easily too.
(I just did, in fact)
It's just using char * in a bunch of places where we mean const char *.
