They could be.  The same two patches should apply.  I think they could 
use a little more testing, though; I've checked that they don't break 
the case of an install without any prefix or suffix, but not so much 
testing if you do specify a prefix and/or suffix.

I hope that's fixed now (although you won't be able to tell from this 
message; it was the difference between emacs sending mail and Apple's 
GUI mail client).
