really fixes a long standing bug, IMHO.

They could be. The same two patches should apply. I think they could use a little more testing, though; I've checked that they don't break the case of an install without any prefix or suffix, but not so much testing if you do specify a prefix and/or suffix.


(Are you sure that gkeating@geoffk5.apple.com, as per your From: header,
works?)

I hope that's fixed now (although you won't be able to tell from this message; it was the difference between emacs sending mail and Apple's GUI mail client).
