Done. Will start testing as soon as the function pointer ivar issue is
fixed.

Would this be a suitable time to submit other objective-c related
patches (mostly improvements, not correctness-related)?

Looking at the current state of the branch, the changes seem to include
a couple of language changes. While there are change I'd like to make,
there are also changes I'd prefer to, well, unmake before they cause
much harm (or at least hear really good rationales for :). However,
neither gcc-patches nor discuss-gnustep seem like appropriate places to
discuss this. The issues aren't gcc specific, but a gcc objective-c
mailing list still seems to be a good choice. Perhaps one should be
created (again?). If not, what would be the most appropriate place to
discuss this?
