But GDB already has dependencies on the C run-time, since it's written
in C.  Bringing a C++ component disguised as a C component would
introduce a new dependency on it.  This is the issue under debate
here.  And, come to think of it, this is not the best forum to debate
GDB and binutils issues :-)
