That was back in the Good Ol' Days, before lawyers. Today, saying nothing
is an invitation for an arbitrary number of lawsuits.
Actually, as Robert Dewar likes to point out frequently, the copyright
text (or lack thereof) in a file has no legal significance at all.
Whether or not a file is copyrighted is independent of what it says.
That didn't used to be the case, but is now.
