That's why I said splitting this file across multiple messages would be
preferable to compressing it - so it would be there, in mail, ready to
quote and reply to.
I still don't see that as an advantage. If somebody sends a
ChangeLog, that's an email that can be replied to and the file can be
quoted by referencing it directly. I still don't see what the added bits of
having the file(s) in the message gains. Splitting it up would seem to
make it *harder* to deal with than directory from the repository.
