Ah.  In that case, removing them altogether from the AC_* world on Tuesday
was probably wrong; now they're not being tested for at all, which is why
autoheader insists on removing the symbols from config.h.in.

Maybe use AC_CHECK_FUNCS instead of AC_REPLACE_MATHFUNCS?  That way the
checks will be done, and the HAVE_* symbols defined, but the functions
won't appear in the LIBMATHOBJS variable.
