So, it appears that FUNCTION_END_PROLOGUE and FUNCTION_BEGIN_EPILOGUE were
added, without tm.texi documentation, in the patch

(revision 1.7 of final.c in the old FSF gcc2 CVS tree).
I'm CC:ing that address; if you're reading, could you please supply the
documentation missing from your 1992 change? Otherwise, does someone have
a current address for Tom Wood?
