All these fix regressions or performance issues relative to 2.95, and
are therefore desired on the branch as well as the trunk. They've all
survived bootstraps on i386-linux.
Bootstraps on the branch or just on the mainline (trunk)? Remember
that I had a patch just before I went away that bootstrapped fine on
the mainline, but not on the branch and it caused serious problems.
As the branch and trunk get further apart, we may need to do
bootstraps on both.
