Since the script gets the files from the web server rather than the local
filesystem (so getting the preprocessing with last modified dates, etc.)
it also won't work. The script will need updating on the mainline once
GCC 2.95.3 has been released, just as a manually maintained NEWS file
would need to get the 2.95.3 changes inserted in it at the appropriate
point.
Perhaps you can start filling out gcc-3.0/features.html (plus if necessary
caveats.html and c++features.html (synchronised with cp/NEWS - the last
one seems to be an exact copy in preformatted text)) with the items from
the past year and a half of news.html / index.html? Then everyone can
help filling in improvements that didn't make news items.
