Hi!
I have posted a patch a few month ago to split libgcc[12].c into
smaller files and move them into their own directory.
You can find it at:

I can update that patch if you think this is desirable. It will
probably reduce the complexity of buiding libgcc.a
One point in that message still stands, I don't understand the magic
involved in building libgcc.a, so I can provide the patch to split it
up, but somebody else would need to do the makefile hackery.
Please let me know if you want an updated patch for this.
