At some point, however, uniformity becomes more of a hidrance
than a help.

Why?  How, without disrupting other ports?  All the other users
of elfos.h _do_ want dbxelf.h.  It's just this odd ecoff legacy
that hasn't quite died on alpha that's the problem.

I strongly suggest that alpha netbsd continue to use alpha/elf.h.
