attribute syntax

Are these two syntaxes equivalent?
__attribute__((aligned(16))
__attribute((aligned(16))
I somehow I saw the second one somewhere but I cannot find it now. Also, the second one does not cause compilation error. I'm wondering if both of them are correct syntax. Thanks.
