I just can across a the same error message building NSS on Mac OS X and I
found it was due to extra white space
in my case
-L ../../../../../dist/Darwin9.0.0_DBG.OBJ/lib -lnssutil3
needed to be
-L../../../../../dist/Darwin9.0.0_DBG.OBJ/lib -lnssutil3
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401986
hope this helps,
glen
