../gcc/configure --prefix=`pwd` --with-gmp --with--mpfr

Should that be '--with-gmp=GMPDIR' and '--with-mpfr=MPFRDIR' (where you replace "GMPDIR" with the gmp build directory and replace "MPFRDIR" with the mpfr build directory) ?
