Now, you must first understand I am really completely new to the unix
world. Hey, I'm no Mac user for nothing ;).

I just tried the command you suggested. What is it supposed to do? All
it did apparently was erase Fink. No improvements apart from that.

Here is the kind of error I get when trying to compile source (in this
case ./configure from gnupg-1.4.1)

...
checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error:
C compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.

Here is the config.log

This file contains any messages produced by compilers while
running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.

It was created by gnupg configure 1.4.1, which was
generated by GNU Autoconf 2.59. Invocation command line was

  $ ./configure

I hope this is of any help. Otherwise, do you think getting another

Thanks for your help
