Cross compiling

Subject: Cross compiling

I am trying to boot with the cross compilations.
I found a FAQ but the last update was December, 1999: anyway there is a lot of information there.

May I avoid to build a "cross-gcc" on my Linux machine? Is there anywhere an already made kit for let's say Tru64,Solaris or SCO in order to start some proof-of-concept?
