I have an academic friend who used Fortran 77 for his PhD. He's just
started a new post-doc and has been given some C code. He doesn't know C
and would like to convert it to Fortran.
Can anyone recommend a good book for him? There is a ten year old book
called 'C for Fortran programmers' but I can't find stock in the UK.
He's maths-turned-astrophysics if that helps.
I was a Fortran jock before I learned C. I just took it up from the
Kernighan and Ritchie book (type "kernighan and ritchie" into Google).
He's also toying with converting it to Fortran 95 not 77 - again, any
good references for the changes? "Fortran 90/95 Explained" has good
reviews on Amazon.
