tempnam & mkstemp

Hallo all,
do you know what can I do with to avoid the following error?

/usr/gcc/2.95.3/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/2.95.3/libg2c.a(open.o): In function `f_open':
open.o(.text+0x4ca): the use of `tempnam' is dangerous, better use `mkstemp'

Thanks

Yvonne B.
