To Whom it may concern,
There is a 32-bit version 3.1.1 gcc compiler installed on the HPUX 11.00
server I use for development. However, I need to create 64-bit binaries
that will link with 64-bit Oracle libraries. What are the gcc compiler
options I need to use to create 64-bit executables? I have spent several
days looking through the gcc documentation and have been unable to find the
option I must use.
Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

HP does not have a 64 bit option within gcc. In order to compile a 64 bit
object, you must have a separate 64 bit version of gcc that was built by a 64
bit compiler. The information you need should be at
developer & solution partner portal - gcc for hp-ux 11

Please note that this is an old bookmark and may have changed since I got it.
However, a search on that site should pick up what is available.
When I last looked at that site, it had both source and binary.
Note that the 64 bit gcc CANNOT build a 32 bit object. Thus you must always
have two versions of gcc installed. The 64 bit version of gcc also includes a
64 bit version of binutils.
