how does -fargument-alias option works ?

Hi ,
I came across -fargument-alias,-fargument-noalias,-fargument-noalias-global
options options, Can you give me idea,in which kind of situations
these options are used. Are these options are effective with C or only with
C++.
Can you plz suggest some practical situation in which these options work
effectively for more clarification ?
