Changing default from m32 to m64

I have installed the gcc-3.2 package from sunfreeware on my
Sun Ultra 5 running Solaris 8. This installation builds 32
bit executables by default. I understand that I can build
64 bit executables by passing the -m64 CFLAG. My current
problem is that I have a large project which will presumably
build in 64 if it uses a gcc which defaults to that but I
have not been able to coax it use the CFLAGS environment
variable.

Can I change the specs file to changfe this default behaviour?
If so can you give me an example file?

Thanks,

	-Vance
