GCC 3.2 configuration question

Subject: GCC 3.2 configuration question
Bcc:

I recently installed glibc-2.2.5.
My question is this: How do i configure gcc in order to make use of those libraries?
I am compiling on a Pentium 3 running linux.

this is what my configure looks like:
configure --prefix=/usr --enable-threads=pthreads

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
