Resetting the IDT Register for a Process?

- Subject: Resetting the IDT Register for a Process?
If a person wanted to capture an interrupt from the
processor directly for a process by replacing the IDT
register during the process's execution, is this
something that is possible to do. For instance,
suppose you wanted to directly handle a divide by zero
error?
Any guidance on better understanding this overall
topic would be greatly appreciated!
Forgive me if this is not the place to post this
question, but it has a direct consequence on the GCC
project I am working on.
