Not able to install gcc on AIX

Sir,

After install in GNU gcc on AIX 4.3.3 I am not able to compile. I am getting the following errors when I run the compiler:

gcc: installation problem, cannot exec `as': A file or directory in the path name does not exist.

Please let me know what is the problem. Please give me some solutions for it.

I have installed: gcc version 2.9 on AIX 4.3.3 on RS/6000 43P 150 box.
