GCC on IRIX 6.5 - Please help

I have installed GCC 3.0.1 from the SGIfreeware package on an IRIX 6.5 
machine. My problem is that I need to link (and run) with a third party dso 
that is o32 format. 

From the docs I can find, it appears that gcc 3 does not support o32. I am 
willing to go to an older version if someone can point me in the right 
direction.
