C++ compile error from gcc-2.95.1 with sun-sparc-solaris2.3

Hi,
I get the a compile error when I use the following command:
% g++ couttest.cc
The error is:
cpp: Invalid option '-lang-c++'
The command is invoked from the compiler directory such as
../gcc-2.95.1/gcc
The program simply outputs 'Hello World' to the screen
