Hi!
Sorry, I did not find a solution in the MLs, so maybe I repost an FAQ?
How can I check out only parts of the cvs tree?
I prefer checking out only the C++-part without testsuite.
If this is not possible, maybe it can be made possible very easy ...
Even with a full-speed connection to the internet the
traditional "co gcc" yields a lot of garbage and swallows a lot of
resources
Btw.:

talks about checkout of gcc_latest_snapshot. No way to do so.
IMHO the FAQs include more errors than useful information by now.
Maybe it would be honest to remove them completely, just to
avoid another maintenance problem and more frustrated RoFMs
