gcc for HP-UX v8

I am in the unenviable position of having to compile 'C' code for a HP-UX v8
platform that has a 300 series CISC architecture.  I would appreciate any
feedback on which compiler would be best and where could I get the compiler
or cross-compiler.  Would gcc v2.6.3 suffice?
