I'm using GCC 4.8.0 as of 20121029 (r192944) at -O3 and in 32 bit mode :

$ cat lra.c
int i, a;
unsigned long long b;

void f(void)
{
    for(i = 0; i < 15; i++)
        b *= b;

    b *= a ? 0 : b;
}

$ xgcc -w -O3 -m32 lra.c
