Failing preprocessed source coden

I am using

$ /Users/eschnett/gcc/bin/gcc --version
gcc (GCC) 4.6.0 20110311 (experimental)

I issue the command

$ /Users/eschnett/gcc/bin/gcc -std=gnu99 -O3 -c rotatingsymmetry180.i

and I receive the error message

The same code compiles fine with gcc 4.5.2. It also compiles fine if I use -O2
instead of -O3.
