Jerry, isn't that one completely fixed?

For the most part this is fixed. We do not handle the case of negative strides, but we do handle strides of more than 1. So I was leaving it open as a reminder to get back to that after we run out of more serious bugs in the I/O library. We have not had any user issues on this.
