You'll have to investigate the drop a bit more. That patch you identified was
supposed to fix the performance problems of a previous fix for some bug. It
should not have any adverse effects. You'll have to identify the code that is
worse optimized now (hopefully find a small test case too), so that we can look
into this problem and figure out what's wrong...
