As describing the problem in words is rather tricky, I'll stick to just
listing the simplified code and the error message:

class SortedList
{
typedef bool (X::*largerThanMethodType)(const X &) const;
SortedList(largerThanMethodType cm = &X::operator>);
}
---- g++ test.cpp ----
