[Bug tree-optimization/16163] [3.5 Regression] O(N^2) in expand

Subject: Re: [3.5 Regression] O(N^2) in expand

Very well. So if you knew this, why not close the bug report? How are we
going to track bugs if you don't close them?

I mentioned in my message on the change that it was to fix the
performance problem.

Since it was a performance problem rather than a reproducable problem
such as an error message, bad code, or ICE, it's inherently subjective
if it's been fixed, so I wanted to let the person who reported it be
the one to decide it had been fixed to his satisfaction.
