Ivan, the ambiguity between object constructor calls and function declarations
is a long-time wart in C++. Another way to fix this (instead of adding a level
of parenthesis) is using the syntax "A a = x;" or "A a = A(x);" to construct
the object, instead of "A a(x);".
For the error message, "main()::type" is really weird, and unusual for GCC, as
far as I can tell. I'll open this as a diagnostic bug.
