Unfortunately, I have no idea what you are refering to.
I am running Suse 9.0 with a stock 2.4.21-192 kernel. There is no entry named
exec-shield or similar in the proc filesystem. As well, there is no variable of
that name in one of the kernel configuration modules of Yast2, Suse's
administration tool.
