Summary: Static link failure: cannot find -lstdc++
Product: gcc
Version: 3.4
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: libstdc++
AssignedTo: unassigned at gcc dot gnu dot org
ReportedBy: peturr02 at ru dot is
CC: gcc-bugs at gcc dot gnu dot org
GCC build triplet: i686-pc-linux-gnu
GCC host triplet: i686-pc-linux-gnu
GCC target triplet: i686-pc-linux-gnu
When the -static flag is passed to g++, linking fails with the message
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lstdc++
This is because g++ is looking for the libraries in:
$PREFIX/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4/
But libstdc++.a and libsupc++.a are in:
$PREFIX/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4/
GCC was configured with --enable-version-specific-runtime-libs.
