Are you sure? Though I can reproduce on 3.3-hammer branch, I can't
reproduce that on 3.3-branch, nor 3.3-rhl-branch, at least as of:
GNU C version 3.3.1 20030721 (prerelease) (i686-pc-linux-gnu)
