By the way, this bug does not require a pipe. Simply running foo will hang.
Also, this bug can be replicated with the native cc compiler.
% cat foo.c
main ()
{
return 0;
}
i ()
{
return 0;
}
d ()
{
return 0;
}
% cc -o foo foo.c -bstatic -q64 -bI:/lib/syscalls.exp -binitfini:i:d
% ./foo
